Carb Reduction

By: Kimberly Gibbons

People who are working on carb reduction usually eat more fat. And that's a good thing. Fats fill us up making it less likely that we will overeat. As you try to avoid trans fats, there are plenty of sources for the good fats such as nuts, fatty fish, avocadoes, flax seeds, and olive oil.
Make sure you get enough protein. We can safely eat up to 35% of our diet as protein so don't be afraid to add more to your diet.
To help with reducing your carb intake, cut your portions when eating a high carb food. It's probably best to avoid it completely but if you feel like you must have it, eat a small portion. It helps to satisfy the urge without the consequences of "pigging out". There are plenty of low carb foods that will leave you feeling full and satisfied. Actually, the possibilities are endless. From meats such as chicken and beef and fish to eggs, cheese, and nuts, you are sure to find variations that will seem like you are not really dieting at all but eating quite well.
The benefits of carb reduction will make you glad that you tried it. Your clothes will begin to fit looser, your blood glucose levels will begin to get in the normal range, blood pressure will also begin to get into the normal range. You will have more energy and feel better all over.
